Below are biographies of select Lazarus Team members:

  • Gint Federas, Founder and “Chief Entrepreneurial Officer” led the Lazarus Team in a bid to acquire the Saturn Motor Division from General Motors. Mr. Federas has 25+ years experience in Sales and Marketing, most recently as President and CEO of Careside Medical LLC, a publicly traded medical device manufacturer (formerly AMEX:CSA). Mr. Federas has had a long career in Marketing and Business Development, with domestic and offshore Manufacturing experience as a supplier to Align Technology (Invisalign), Allergan, Advanced Medical Optics, Clorox, Lysol, and Procter & Gamble. Mr. Federas earned an MBA from St. Mary’s College in 2003 complementing a dual BS/BA degree in Biochemistry and Psychology earned from UCLA at just 18 years old.   • Ray Calabrese has been a corporate treasurer in Silicon Valley for the past 18 years. Prior to the Lazarus Team, Ray worked with entrepreneurial and innovative companies such as Farallon Computing (Netopia), Digital Link Corp, Livingston Enterprises (acquired by Lucent technologies), and Tut Systems (acquired by Tektronix). He was most recently at CNET Networks (acquired by CBS Corp.) where he led the closing of a syndicated $250MM senior secured credit facility and developed and executed a global cash management banking platform. Ray has a BA, Economics from Sacred Heart University and a MBA, Finance from University of Bridgeport (CT).
  • Barry Goon is a former Chief Financial Officer, Vice President of Operations, and Controller. Barry’s contribution to the Lazarus Team are his skills and experience include cost accounting, financial planning and analysis, internal audit, acquisitions, human resources, and offshore responsibilities. He has experience with small and large companies in the high tech industries including: semiconductor, electronic equipment manufacturers, computer, semiconductor packaging, and e-commerce. Barry has worked for Ampex, Xerox, Fairchild and other semiconductor and computer hardware companies. Barry received a BS in Business Administration – Finance from California State University, Sacramento.
  • Tom Magill has been a Program and Project Management Executive for major corporations. Prior to joining the Lazarus Team, Tom was Director of IT at Baxter Healthcare, Vice President of Logistics at McKesson Corp, and more recently Managing Director at Kaiser Permanente. Mr. Magill earned his BS in Packaging Technology and his MBA in Marketing & Logistics from Michigan State University.
  • Tom Porter has over 30 years of financial and operations experience most recently at Kaiser Permanente serving as National Director and Controller. Before the Lazarus Team, Tom served as EVP of Finet.com, and was previously Senior Vice President of Finance at McKesson Drug Company. Tom received a BS in Management from San Diego State University and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University.

  • Mark Curtis is a 30 year Government Affairs professional and Radio and TV broadcaster, all over America. He was the first Capitol Correspondent in the Washington, D.C. bureau for all Cox Television stations. Mark is well known for his many years with Bay Area television station KTVU (1993-2008) where he Co-Anchored the “KTVU Morning News,” the #1 local early morning newscast in the Bay Area for the past 6 years.
